About us

We believe that older people have the right to inclusion, independence and choice. We offer a high quality, safe and caring environment for all who attend the centre. Our aim is to support them to continue to live independently in the community. We provide person centred care and assistance, working together with carers and families to support their individual needs.

Our staff are friendly, committed and qualified and are led by an experienced Day Services Manager. All staff and volunteers are subjected to a DBS check (formerly known as CRB). We work within the Service User Charter that underpins the ethos of the centre.

We provide a service to the areas surrounding Kings Heath in Birmingham, particularly the B14/B13 postcodes. However if individuals from outside those areas have a means of transport and wish to attend we are very happy to look at the possibilities.

Referrals (two options available)

  • Birmingham City Council Social Worker Assessment
  • Self-Referral

Charges apply for either of these options. If you wish to make your own enquiries about funding support, you can ring ACAP (Adults and Communities Access Point) on 0121 303 1234 to ask whether you are eligible for a Birmingham City Council contribution towards the service charge.

Finance

As a charity, the Robin Centre is an entirely non-profit making organisation, and input from the Trustees means we keep our overheads to the minimum. The main cost of service provision is met from charges for places at the Centre. However, donations help us to purchase equipment and improve the members' experience through new recreational activities. They have also proved a lifeline in the Covid 19 pandemic. If you would like to donate, a simple way is through The Robin Centre Just Giving page.
